How to Get to El Nido, Palawan
Direct Flights Island Transvoyager Inc. (ITI) offers direct flights from Manila to El Nido, landing at its own private airport on the island. However, travelers should book 5 days ahead, as seats are limited. The airline uses a 19-seater Dornier 228 airplane. Flights to El Nido are available 3 times a day and only 90 minutes long. Fare is around PHP 6,750 per person with a luggage restriction of 10 kg, including carry-on bags. For more information, contact ITI's Manila office at (02) 851 5664 or (02) 851 5674.
By Plane Via Puerto Princesa If a direct flight to El Nido is not available, guests can simply fly to Puerto Princesa City from Manila, Clark, Davao, or Cebu. Airlines operating this route include Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, AirAsia, Seair/Tiger Airways, and Zest Air. From the city, travelers can then hire a private van to go their resort, El Nido town proper, or other islands in the area. The scenic trip is 5 to 7 hours long, on a mix of paved and unpaved roads. Ro-Ro buses to the town and shuttle services are also available.
By sea Various shipping lines offer trips from Manila to El Nido, such as San Nicolas Lines (Manila trunkline: 02-2432830) and Atienza Shipping (Manila trunkline: 02-2438848; El Nido mobile number: 09185666786 or 09056445041). While significantly cheaper than riding a plane and a bus, the trip will take around 2 to 36 hours. These ships are primarily used for cargo, however, so don't expect a cruise-ship experience. Ferries from Coron to El Nido town are also available.
